Autumn Buys

As it was pay day last week, I couldn't resist splashing the cash and revamping my wardrobe for autumn/ winter, so on Sunday my mum and I went on a shopping spree to Chester which is a cute city in the UK. After spending lunch time in a cafe called 'Mad Hatters Tea Room', filling up on baked sweet potato and hot chocolate, we hit the shops for some seasonal must haves. My favourite thing I purchased on the shopping trip was a Pandora Bracelet. Pandora bracelets are hugely popular as they can mean a variety of things from the charms you can buy. For myself, I wanted to buy a charm which was incredibly personal. Earlier this year my Granddad sadly passed away, so as a way to remember him and my grandma, I brought a beautiful angel wing in silver with a 14 carrot gold heart alongside the bracelet itself. I am ordering the ' Family', safety chain also. I also brought lots of essential items for the rest of the year.

The Autumn Tag

1. Favourite Autumn Scent?

I love candles and room sprays with a Spiced Apple and Cinnamon Scent, it just reminds me that Christmas is around the corner! I also love the smell of wood burning which is a regular weekend 'thing' as we like to roast marshmallows over the open fire when the weather get's cooler.

2. The Thing I Love Most About Autumn

I defiantly love Autumn for the weather, I'm more of a cosy- give me tea and a blanket- kinda girl, so Summer isn't my favourite season. I also love how social able the months are with Halloween, Bonfire Night and the Christmas Spirit/ NYE around the corner.

3. My Favourite Drinks and Food's To Eat

I'm a sucker for a good hot chocolate either from Starbucks or Lint Chocolate power mix topped with lots of mini marshmallows in my favourite mug! As in England the weather get's fairly cold and brittle, especially in the final weeks of Autumn, my family and I love stodge, home cooked meals. Such as Beef Stew and Dumplings, typical Roast Dinner and I LOVE making my Spicy Tomato Soup and Home made Walnut Bread.

4. Seasonal Trends I Love

Recently I have been loving the Suede trend, even brought myself a beautiful burnt orange A- Line suede skirt from Primark... just £8! Of course Tartan is up there as well as I feel it's a typical seasonal trend with tartan scarf's and skirts making an appearance once again. However I also really like Black Chelsea Boots with a thick small heel and Peep toe finish, I feel these types of shoes are very chic and edgy for the cooler months, perfect for spicing up your jeans and jumper combo!

5. Seasonal Hobbies

As it gets cooler and more, I need a thick jumper and ear muffs, weather, I do tend to stay indoors a lot more. One hobby I always do, all year round, is baking. I love baking cakes, bread and tarts. As it comes to Autumn and Winter I intend on baking a lot, I've already decided I'm attempting a Ginger Bread House for Christmas! I also LOVE reading, whether it's a chick lit or a mystery thriller, something about being all cosy underneath the duvet with candles burning and a cup of tea makes my nights better.

Barcelona Photo Diary Part 2

Day 4| Beach Day

This day we made the 30 minute walk to the beach. Many people think Barcelona doesn't have a beach as it is a City, however the beach is a lovely long strip of sandy shores and clearly blue water. On our walk back after spending the morning there, we ventured through small streets of the city, captivated by the variety of shops and spotting the odd church along our way.

Day 5| Bus Tour

On this day we decided to go on a bus tour where you can hop on and off at any destination you choose along the way. The sighs were breath taking, the combination of the old fashioned city combined with modern day is such a pleasing contrast. One of the destinations we stopped off at was the Palace which is an impressive feature, overlooking the rest of Barcelona. Sadly the foundation weren't working but the Palace itself was very remarkable. Afterwards we went to the Olympic Park which again, gave us great views of Barcelona. As temperatures rose to late 20's and us being British, couldn't take the heat much longer, we went back to the Irish Bar for cocktails.

Day 6| Sagrada Familia

Day 6 was hands down my most favorite day from the holiday, Sagrada Familia. The cities most popular destination which, not surprising was very extraordinary. It is a cathedral which after 100 years has still not be completed, is it such a surprise from the amazing detail though? Nope. The outside is covered with details of Jesus and figures with different meanings. Inside is just as good. The tall stained glass windows are coloured in colourful and bright glass, reflecting a ray of colours throughout the center when the sun shines on it. The ceiling carries the detail from outside, inside and the staircases and patterned with Gaudi's style.
After gawping for hours, we went for a walk back to the harbor to watch the sunset which is one of my favorite things to do as I am fascinated by the sky.

Day 7| Final Day

Sadly day 7 was our final day, after having a hectic and tiring few days we chose to chill and relax on the beach front before going out for a lovely meal.
I was very supersized at how much there was to do in Barcelona as I and I'm sure many others assume theirs just the odd thing to see. I could have happily stayed their for a further week, continuing exploring the cities high lights and cute little streets. Thankfully the weather was wonderful for saying it was September it sure carried on the Summer Holiday Vibe.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! See Part 1 here

Day 1 Arrival and Exploring

On 3rd September my family and I went on a long awaited holiday to Barcelona! My parents prefer staying in apartment/ villa accommodations on our holidays as they don't like the scheduled meals in hotels. The apartment we stayed in was on the first floor of a rather quiet street with a Terence looking out to other buildings. I was surprised at how many palm tree's there are in Barcelona!

Day 2| Casa Batllo

On Day 2 we woke up fairly early and made a quick 10 minute walk to Casa Batllo which is situated on one of the main streets in Barcelona lined with designer shops and posh restaurants. The building was designed by Gaudi, who is a famous artist/ architecture, many years ago. The front of the building is breath taking with skeleton like balconies which apparently warned off unwanted visitors in previous decades. Throughout the building are amazing stone work, using a ray of colours to brighten up the tall building.

Day 3| The Harbor

Day 3 we went on a relaxing walk to the harbor which was a fairly long walk, thankfully we stopped off at an Irish Bar (Typical Brit) to refresh ourselves as the weather was reaching late 20 degrees. The harbor is so pretty filled with many boats for fishing and even cruise ships.
